Pineland Farms Outdoor Recreation Center is located on the lower level of Windham Hall. Operated by local outdoor retailer Gorham Bike and Ski, the ski center offers skiers, snowshoers and outdoor enthusiasts a place to gather rent or purchase skis and trail passes.

It also houses a waxing room equipped with all the bells and whistles needed to prep for daily ski conditions. Daily and seasonal passes are available through Gorham Bike and Ski.
Clinics

Pineland Farms will be facilitating and hosting a variety of on-snow clinics that will provide participants the opportunity to learn new skills and perfect existing technique. The following is a list of programs and clinics for the 2003/2004 Winter Season.

MWSC Ski Coaches Clinic:

Saturday, December 6

Designed for middle school and high school coaches to optimize pre-season training with dry-land techniques that prepare competitors for better skiing. Facilitated by MWSC Coach Will Sweetser.

Master on Snow Clinics:

Craftsbury Marathon Primer

Saturday, January 17

One day clinic with emphasis on classical ski techniques and sport specific training regimen for the master athlete.

Rangeley Loppet Primer:

Saturday, February 14

One day clinic for male and female master skiers preparing for the Rangeley Marathon. The one day format is designed to improve freestyle ski techniques and help identify training regimens for the busy master athlete.

Join MWSC Coach Will Sweetser for one-day mini series of technique improving skills clinics for performance skiers of all ages. Mini clinics will focus on:

Saturday A.M. BKYSL:

Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning January 3 to February 29.

This game-based, instructional program is directed at “hooking” children on the fun of cross country skiing. Children will develop the eight essential skills of skiing while gaining comfort on skis.

Bill Koch Youth Ski League Ski Orienteering:

Sunday Jan. 11; clinic begins at 10:30 a.m.

BKYSL Skiers ages 5-13 will enjoy a new and challenging way to cross country ski. Using a map and compass skiers find the fastest route around a ski course.

BKYSL New Eng.Tuner

Sunday Feb. 22, 9- 10:30 a.m.

This post season program is designed for BKYSL skiers from the ages of 5-13 years. Once the regular season is completed and before the children travel to the Bankorth New England BKL Festival, is a chance for participants to relax, ski with family and focus on tweaking ski techniques.

Senior Striders


Every Wednesday for the months of January and February from 10 a.m. to noon

This program is designed for senior (55+) skiers looking for a ski group. Light instruction will be available every class with a supervised group ski. The program goal is to assist in developing a group network of active seniors to embrace Maine winters.

Moms and Munchkins

Tuesdays, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. January 7-February 18

This program offers a time for parents and their children to recreate, enjoy the outdoors and experience farm life. While the children are learning ski techniques and about life on the farm, Moms have the opportunity to sharpen their ski skills and explore the trails.
