The new children’s show will air on Maine PBS Dec. 5, 6 and 7.
Children worldwide will get to see an animated adventure, “A Very Wompkee Christmas,” thanks to creators Con Fullam and Maura Clarke of Windham.
He is an independent songwriter and producer; she is in the production department of WCSH-TV.
Together, they’ve created the world of Wompkee Wood, where Wompkees, magical creatures that can fly thanks to their giant ears, live in peace and security. One Christmas, when that peace is threatened by an evil ice witch, Iglora Borealis, the Wompkees must pull together to defeat her, her ice fairies and hench-hound, Woofus. During this adventure, Twig, the littlest Wompkee, learns an important lesson about growing up when she becomes the heroine of the story.
DEOS Film and Animation Studios in Lawrence, Mass., produced the fully animated, hourlong special.
The special will aired over 150 public television stations nationwide, including those in Maine and New Hampshire.
Maine PBS broadcasts will be Friday, Dec. 5, at 5 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 6, at 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 7 a.m.
