Sugarloaf Anti-Gravity Complex

At the foot of Sugarloaf/USA, the Carrabassett Valley Antigravity Recreational Complex is a 20,000-square foot facility that boasts Maine’s largest indoor skate bowl and one of the most aggressive street park designs currently constructed in New England.

Located behind Mountainside Grocery, the complex is operated through a joint partnership between the Town of Carrabassett Valley and Carrabassett Valley Academy. Other features include trampolines with harness rigging, an indoor rock climbing wall, and a multi-purpose court with running track along with weight training and aerobic facilities.

For the young, and the young at heart, who would like to take part in some fun and physically challenging activities try the Antigravity Center.

Turbo Tubing – It’s a BLAST!

Want to try a new family activity? This might be it and it doesn’t require lots of equipment or lots of money.

The Turbo Tubing is for ages five to 100-years-old. With it’s own handle-tow, and four one thousand-foot chutes off lower Whiffletree trail at Sugarloaf, this is the kind of fun you don’t want to ignore. You must be at least 42″ (3′ 6″) tall to ride. There are slower red tubes for younger children.

Holiday hours are: Every night double sessions from 4 to 6 p.m. (1 Session) and 7 to 9 p.m.(session 2).

January hours are: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will be 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday will be double sessions from 4 to 6 p.m. (1) and 7 to 9 p.m. (2).

February and March hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday will be double sessions from 4 to 6 p.m (1) and 7 to 9 p.m. (2).

Outdoor Center

Discover a special gem, tucked away in the woods just minutes away from the Sugarloaf/USA Base Area. Home of the state’s largest Nordic trail network and the site of limitless adventures.

The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center offers Cross-country skiing on 100km of the best groomed trails in the East, a warm, comfortable lodge with magnificent views, an olympic-size skating rink, snowshoeing and more.

Something for everyone:

The cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails offer a great variety of treks through the beautiful Maine woods.The lodge area provides a perfect start for first time skiers. Novice skiers will enjoy a variety of beginner terrain, while more advanced skiers will find plenty of challenging terrain for both classic and ski skating. 100km of groomed trail loops include routes through the village and lodging facilities at the base of Sugarloaf.

The trail network weaves through the Longfellow Mountains between Sugarloaf, Crocker, and the Bigelow mountains, three of the four largest mountains in the state. All trails are well marked and rated for ability. A trail map is available to help you choose the best ride for you.

The Lodge and The Hut

The beautiful solar-heated lodge and newly constructed trailside warming hut, are friendly starting and stopping points during the day. Fresh baked muffins, simmering soups and stews, and hearty sandwiches are just a few of the refreshments you’ll find at the Klister Kitchen Cafe, famous for it’s homemade lunches.

They also offer ski clinics daily at 10 a.m. There is also a junior nordic program that meets on designated weekends throughout the winter.

For every $50 raised (donated) above the entry fee, you can deduct .25 second off your race time. That’s right – the money you collected will translate into time deducted off your race time. For example, if you raise a total of $1,100, we will deduct 5 seconds off your race time.
