MEXICO – The Region 9 board is expected to appoint a new, full-time adult education instructor, conduct its annual evaluation of the director and accept Perkins grant money when members meet Tuesday.
The session starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the conference room of the River Road school.
Director Deborah Guimont said the adult and community education section of the school has been operating with part-time instructors for nearly a year. A new, full-time instructor is expected to be appointed.
The board will also accept Perkins grant money totaling $49,000 to be used for a variety of vocational programs.
In other business, Guimont’s annual evaluation is scheduled to be conducted in a closed session. The setting of her salary will take place early next year.
Guimont may also announce the status of a department of education grant request that would provide funding for an elevator and other improvements at the school.
