PORTLAND – Soprano Christina Astrachan, tenor David Goulet and bass-baritone John D. Adams will join Portland Symphony Orchestra principal harpist Jara Goodrich and organist James Strand in an evening of holiday music Saturday, Dec. 20.

The evening, which includes the Portland Conservatory Orchestra and Chorus, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, at Coyle Street and Forest Avenue.

The program, entitled “Christmas in a French Cathedral,” will feature such traditional favorites such as “Ave Maria,” “O Holy Night” and “Jesu Bambino” along with gems of the French repertoire such as Charpentier’s “Midnight Mass” and Rameau’s “Hymn to the Night.”

The Conservatory’s Festival Orchestra will be heard in Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” and the youngsters of the Suzuki string program will put in a special guest appearance as will duo harpists Maia Stamieszkin and Theresa Sepulveda.
