LIVERMORE – The Norlands Living History Center has a series of events planned for February and March, including some dancing and dining.

These include the following:

Feb. 7 there will be a sleigh rally at the Norlands. People can watch the races and go up to the house for hot coffee, cocoa, doughnuts and cookies. There will be a small fee for refreshments. Rides may be available for a fee, people can call Norlands at 897-4366 for details.

Feb. 12 will be a lecture on the Lincoln-Washburn family connection. Since one of the Washburn sons helped Lincoln get elected, this will be an opportunity to hear the tales from one of the Washburn family descendants. Light refreshments will be served. Cost is $3 per person.

Feb. 14 will feature a dinner dance at 5 p.m. Diners have a choice of chicken cordon bleu, roast leg of lamb or ratatouille served with rice pilaf, as well as salad, carrots, dinner rolls and chocolate mousse.

There also will be romantic music for dancing. It will be $40 per couple. People are being asked to make prepaid reservations by Feb. 7 and, when they do, to specify the dinner they prefer.

To make reservations, people can call 897-4366, can e-mail norlands@norland.org or send a check to Norlands, 290 Norlands Road, Livermore Me. 04253

• Also, on the fourth Saturday of every month Norlands will host an old-fashioned barn dance.

It’s a chance to bring the family for a night of fun and dancing, as well as to learn to square dance, according to Norlands staff. It will be $5 admission for adults, with special family rates available.

Light refreshments will be served. During the winter months, dances will be held in the house.

• Saturday, March 20, from 8 a.m. until noon and Sunday, March 21, 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Maple Days at the Norlands will feature “all you can eat pancakes” served with pure maple syrup. The pancakes will be served in the Farmer’s Cottage and will cost $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 10.
