According to the Sun Journal’s interesting article about matching people up with presidential candidates, Rev. Doug Taylor is a supporter of George W. Bush (Feb. 7).

I admire Rev. Taylor for his wonderful ministry helping inner city children through the Jesus Party. However, I think he and other pro-life Christians are misguided to align themselves with Mr. Bush. “Thou shalt not kill” surely applies to soldiers, not just the unborn. I don’t see how a Christian believer can support the bloodshed and killing of young American people in this obscene war.

The very children in the Jesus Party will be at risk if this regime stays in power. The hawks in Washington pay homage to their wealthy friends, while treating the poor and downtrodden with disdain. Chances are, no one in that inner circle has ever had to pinch pennies to make it to the next meager payday.

Keep up the good work with the Jesus Party. But please open your eyes and scrutinize Mr. Bush before the election.
