HENNIKER, N.H. (AP) – Former Democratic presidential contender Carol Moseley Braun will be the keynote speaker for New England College graduates this spring.

It won’t be Braun’s first visit to the school. The former U.S. senator made a campaign stop there last fall, and she also attended a college convention there in January. She dropped out of the presidential race a week and a half before the New Hampshire Primary.

Braun is the first and only African-American woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate. Before that, she was a legislator in the Illinois House of Representatives.

Commencement is May 16.
