• Jarrod A. Goodwin, 28, of Rumford, on charges of operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating without a license, on March 10.

• Marie E. Palmer, 45, of Rumford, on a charge of speeding of at least 45 mph in a posted school zone while children were present, on March 9.

• A 14-year-old Rumford boy, on charges of criminal trespass and theft in the removal of a flag at a Forest Avenue home, on March 8. The youth was turned over to his parents.

• Shawn Bentley, 44, of Rumford, on a charge of possession of an open container.

• Michael Allen Zinneman, 34, of Canton, on charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and operating the wrong way on a one-way street, on March 4.

INCIDENTS

• March 16, 10:45 a.m. – A 15-year-old Rumford girl was summoned on a charge of attempted theft after she allegedly took a bag of bottles and cans from IV Corners Redemption, then dropped the bag, fleeing from the Waldo Street location prior to police arrival.

• March 13, 4:45 p.m. – A Pine Street woman reported that while she was leaving her friend’s residence on Pine Street, she saw a man armed with a gun chasing another man.

Responding police learned there was a pellet gun in the residence where the two men were seen, but no one in the residence would admit to going outside. No victims could be located.

• March 13, 4:09 p.m. – While on patrol, officer Mark Cayer spotted a disabled vehicle on Route 109 in Smith Crossing and Riverside Drive that was on the railroad tracks and could only move in reverse. Railroad officials were advised of the situation, a tow truck was dispatched to haul the vehicle away, and a cab was called for the driver.

• March 12 – Linnell Motel reported that guests had left without paying. Police are investigating.

• March 11 – A young man and his father visited the police station to report that sometime during the day, someone had walked over his car from rear to front. The car was parked in a rear lot on Hancock Street. Estimated damage to the hood was $30. There are no suspects.

• March 9, 6:30 p.m. – While investigating a theft complaint in a yard on Forest Avenue for SAD 43 buses, police learned that an engine heater on one of the buses had been unplugged.

According to the police report, when questioned, a juvenile in the area allegedly admitted to unplugging the bus. The school’s superintendent wanted charges pursued so the youth was summoned for criminal mischief.

• March 9, 3:30 p.m. – A Waldo Street resident reported that her apartment had been burglarized and $300 cash taken. Nothing else was reported missing, however, a medicine cabinet had been rifled.

• March 8, 7:30 a.m. – At the intersection of Railroad Street and Route 108, a 1998 Ford pickup truck driven by Joseph Touchette, 35, of Rumford, collided with a 1997 International tractor-trailer driven by John Chamberland, no age given, of Skowhegan. Estimated damages to the pickup truck were $5,000; $1,000 to the big rig’s under carriage.
