Citizens’ Advisory

Board to meet

The Citizens’ Advisory Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, to discuss and take action on a variety of efforts to improve the downtown area and boost the economic climate.

Town Manager Joseph Derouche said the final touches will be made to the Keep Mexico Moving forum planned for next month.

The board will discuss the status of creating a periodic newsletter that would keep residents up to date on changes in town, as well as take a stance on a possible new sign on the Maine Turnpike.

The board also wants to look into participating in an Adopt-a-Spot program whereby businesses and others would take responsibility for maintaining green areas around town. Policies, procedures, rules and guidelines on the proposal will be studied and possibly approved.

Several applications for grant funds earmarked for improving the exterior of businesses will also be reviewed.
