HARRISON – Verd Holden of North Bridgton snagged the largest fish at the recent Western Maine Fish & Game Ice Fishing Derby. Anglers were eligible to fish anywhere in Maine. The catches were registered at derby headquarters located at the boat launch on Long Lake.
Holden caught a 6-pound, 11-ounce largemouth bass to claim the grand prize of $200.
Winners in the $50 category were as follows: Joshua Savage, 1-pound, 1-ounce salmon; Dave Jordan, 6-pound, 6-ounce bass; Kevin Hamlin, 4-pound, 5-ounce togue; Timothy Holt, 3-pound, 8-ounce pickerel; Todd Murphy, 3-pound, 2-ounce brown trout.
