• March 23: A 16-year-old Rumford boy was summoned for theft after an investigation revealed he had reportedly stolen seven Klonopin pills from his mother. He was conditionally released to his mother. Klonopin, the brand name for Clonazepam, is an addictive anti-convulsant, anti-anxiety and anti-panic agent.
• March 22: A Rumford resident reported the theft of three prescription drugs, worth an estimated $50. The drugs were reportedly stolen within the past week, police said.
• March 22: A Falmouth Street resident reported an attempted burglary that occurred sometime on March 9 or 10, when two people entered her apartment. The resident told police that only one of the persons had her permission to enter her home.
• March 21: Police responded to Rite Aid Pharmacy on Portland Street after a alleged shoplifter was caught. Billy Jean Leclair, 19, of Canton, received a summons when bottles of Tylenol and pink lemonade were discovered stolen.
ARRESTS
• A 16-year-old Mexico boy, on charges of unauthorized use of property and operating without a license, on March 24. He was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
• Burton Poole, 45, of Calais, turned himself in to Rumford police on March 22. He was wanted on an Oxford County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of operating under the influence, and a Washington County warrant for violation of probation. Both were 1998 cases, police said. He was transported to Oxford County jail in Paris.
• Edward G. Blash, 52, of Princeton, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on March 19. He was released on $300 unsecured bail.
• David Ryerson, 24, of Mexico, on a warrant for failure to pay fine, on March 18. He was released on $248 cash bail.
• A 15-year-old Rumford boy, on charges of filing a false police report, on March 12. He was released to his parents.
