RUMFORD – Rep. Michael Michaud, D-2nd District, will hold a press conference with Rumford Hospital Chief Executive Officer John Welsh on Saturday, May 1, to announce the appropriation of federal funds to initiate the hospital’s modernization.
The press conference will be in the hospital lobby on the second floor at 3:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend and to join the congressman for refreshments in the Auxiliary Coffee Shop afterward.
“We have waited a long time to begin steps toward much-needed modernization here at Rumford Hospital,” said Welsh in a prepared statement.
The money is key to the hospital’s ability to maintain the level of care, he said, and he urged local residents to turn out to thank Michaud “for his sincere attention to the needs of his constituents in the River Valley, and to encourage him as he seeks additional federal funds” for modernization.
