I am writing in response to the article, “Leads in Wilton killing fail to help break case,” that was in the Sun Journal May 14.
I am Rachel Fretz, Butchy Weed’s sister. I pray every day that there will be that one person who gives the connecting clue to why this was done.
I have been living a nightmare since Dec. 23, 2003. I wake up every morning thinking about Butchy and why this horrific crime was done to such an amazing person.
I hope the person who did this someday cannot live with themselves and comes forward. I pray that if someone knows anything that they come speak with the state police to help find this person, not only for us but for everyone. I just hope that the people in the community that is so small and close remember that this is unsolved.
Remember the person who did this could be the one who is behind you at the store. They could be in the car behind you at the bank. They could be your neighbor.
This crime was not just done to my brother; it was done to the entire community. Wilton is such a small, close town, that it now will never be the same. I know that having answers will not bring him back. He is gone forever, and all we are left with are wonderful memories.
