Democracy is under attack in America. Radicals are using activist judges to force fundamental changes in our society. No American will ever be given the chance to vote. This isn’t freedom. Momentous decisions should not be made by a few, but by us all.

Marriage between men and women is the fundamental building block of not just American society, but for all of human civilization. Marriage is a sacred institution founded not by government, but by God. For years, marriage in America has been weakened by the epidemic of infidelity and divorce. Gay marriage will corrupt marriage even further. If in the name of equality and privacy, gay marriage is right, how then can we say that polygamy is wrong?

Just like abortion 30 years ago, making gay marriage legal nationwide without allowing the American people the opportunity to vote will spark an all out cultural war, which will scar our nation for decades and only increase extremism and hatred on both sides.

If the American people vote to allow gay marriage, then those of us who disagree will have to tolerate it. That’s democracy. A small group of justices mandating that for all of us is not democracy.

The definition of marriage is too important to be determined by a few Supreme Court justices. The American people must be allowed to decide for themselves.

The battle for marriage should not be waged in the courtroom, but in the voting booth.
