This letter is in support of Sen. Peggy Rotundo, the best senator that Lewiston has had in a long time.

I am the parent of a 39-year-old man who has Down syndrome. I have been an advocate for people with mental retardation out of necessity. It has been a struggle all these years to convince each new governor and Legislature that people with mental deficiencies deserve society’s compassion and support. Every time the state budget needs to be balanced, the most vulnerable are targeted.

Peggy Rotundo has consistently stood up for those who need her help. This year, in particular, when services were being slashed across the board, she fought for the disadvantaged.

Peggy is smart, does her research, is committed to her constituents and does her best to make sure the people of Lewiston are represented. We are lucky to have such a hard worker in our corner.
