FAYETTE – Steven J. Blais, 46, of Fayette died unexpectedly after a sudden illness July 5.

He was born on Feb. 5, 1958, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Gerard J., and Ann M. (Surette) Blais. He attended Rumford and Dixfield schools, and often reminisced about playing football for Dirigo.

He married the former Anita R. Frost in Lewiston on June 9, 1979. He worked various jobs, and was known for being a self-made man. He and his wife owned and operated a successful business in the Lewiston-Auburn area for the past 13 years.

He was known for living life to the fullest. He enjoyed listening to music, jamming with friends, boating, landscaping, and birdwatching. His other interests included, collection of world-class guitars and being an avid Mercedes Benz enthusiast. He had a great love of spending time with his family and many friends.

Besides his parents of Roxbury, he is survived by his wife, Anita of Fayette; two sons, Derek J. Blais and his girlfriend, Marie Frank of Lewiston, John S. and his wife, Michelle M.A. (Vachon) Blais of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Myriah of Lewiston; one expecting granddaughter, Autumne; two brothers, David Blais of Anchorage, Alaska, and Daniel Blais of Hollister, Calif.; two sisters, Michelle Young of Dixfield, Julie Blais of Auburn; his furry friend, Broken-Ear; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His unparalleled sense of humor will be missed by all.
