NEW SHARON – The Congregational and Methodist churches will sponsor a vacation Bible school for children ages 4 to 13. It will run July 11-16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the New Sharon Methodist Church. Soil, water district meeting
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its monthly board meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Service Center, 107 Park St. The meeting is open to the public.

Hunter safety classes
RANGELEY – A free hunter-safety course will be offered by the Rangeley Region Guides’ and Sportsmen’s Association at the group’s clubhouse on Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc. The classes, open to all prospective gun hunters, will be 6 to 9 p.m. July 19 and 20, and July 26 and 27.
Children between 10 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult. People may preregister by calling River’s Edge at 864-5582.
CPR course will be July 17
FARMINGTON – Registrations are being accepted for a cardiopulmonary resuscitation course that will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The course, which will follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association, is designed for the general public. It will include information on basic cardiac life-support techniques for adults, children and infants, as well as instruction on auto-electronic defibrillators.
People must attend the entire course to receive certification. The fee of $40 includes a textbook. Class size is limited and preregistration, as well as a pre-test, is required.
