MADRID – The annual summer hymn sing will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 18, in the Reeds Mill Church. The little country church will be lighted with kerosene lamps, but people may want to bring flashlights also to aid in seeing the hymnals, organizers say. All interested people are welcome to attend.

Bible school

FARMINGTON – Son Games 2004, which is billed as a “Vacation Bible School of Champions,” will start Monday, July 19, and run until July 23. The school, for preschoolers to sixth-graders, will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street. It will feature Bible stories, crafts, skits, games and music.
