In the greatest injustice to music fans since the breakup of the Beatles, boy band “N Sync has not performed together since the 2003 Grammy Awards. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel: According to the New York Daily News, the band, which helped launch the career of the incomparable Justin Timberlake, will play a July 25 show in Miami to benefit its Challenge for the Children Foundation.
But they won’t just be helping underprivileged kids. Joey Fatone says he and the other band members will have a sit-down after the show to discuss their plans to grant the world a priceless gift: a brand-new album.

Yes, it’s official: That brilliant, geeky-gawky, gangly genius auteur of a guy, Quentin Tarantino is dating that brilliant, geeky-gawky, socially awkward, genius 33-year-old auteur of a gal, Sofia Coppola. Fact, they’re so together they even have a joint publicist – that’s about as close to being legal as it gets in celebdom. The rep says the pair “enjoy each other’s company.” Quent, 41, seems to be a total babe magnet: He was previously rumored to have dated statuesque screen goddess Uma Thurman. We do admit we admire the dude: He gives us dorky, awkward social rejects so much hope.

From brainiacs to the beautiful people. According to Star magizine, that fabulously pretty hunk Matthew McConaughey has a thing going on with melt-in-your-mouth-and-strike-you-blind hottie Penelope Cruz. Seems Penelope is working off that grief from her split from Hollywood mogul Tom Cruise with a camping trip in Matt’s home state, Texas. Unnamed sources say McConaughey spent much of the time at the Big Oak River Camp in true “Deliverance” mode, sans shirt and sporting a bandanna on his head, while Cruz opted for the Audrey Hepburn/Jackie O thing with hat and sunglasses. Star seemed quite excited by the fact that the couple brought their own RV – just like real trailer-park people.
Simpson’s threat
B-list pop singer and reality-show diva Jessica Simpson has dropped a couple of mildly startling bombs in an interview with Us Weekly magazine. First, the good news: She says this might be the last season she and hubby Nick Lachey (he’s the Albert Einstein in that marital equation) will inflict their MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica” on the American public. The bad news: The couple want to start a family. It gets more alarming: While they intend to hatch their own brood, they’re also thinking about adopting a teenage child from an underdeveloped country – which we hope will not consider this an act of war.
