This is in response to the Sun Journal story (July 16) about the $100 fine levied on bar owner Augustine Russo. In my opinion, there should have been no fine at all. Only adults were in attendance and it was a private party.

In America, we each have the choice – if something offends you, don’t come in, don’t participate.

City officials should not hail this decision. I consider them fiscally irresponsible. How much taxpayer money was spent on judicial proceedings, law enforcement, etc., just so officials could slap each other on the back?
