RANGELEY – The Rangeley Public Library has planned a glow-ball golf tournament, meal and silent auction on Thursday, July 22.

The evening begins with a light buffet at 6 at the Country Club Inn across from Mingo Springs Golf Course.

During the buffet, golfers and everyone else may view and place bids on items in a silent auction until 8 p.m. Auction items include hand-crafted jewelry, knitting materials (with knitting lessons), select wines and children’s art supplies.

Before the start of the tournament at 8:30 p.m., a putting contest will be held from 8 to 8:20 p.m.

The nine-hole tournament and will be limited to 40 golfers or 10 four-person teams, playing in a scramble format. They will use glow balls and play the nine greens with glowing holes. The first-place team will win $80; second, $50; and third, $10.

The entry fee is $50 for nine holes and includes the buffet and auction. The cost for the buffet and auction alone is $15, and those participants may also walk the course with or caddy for a player.
