NEW SHARON – The first LEAP Golf Tournament will take place Aug. 22 at the Sandy River Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit Life Enrichment Advancing People Inc. and its non-Medicaid-funded programs. The tournament is sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank and Kyes Insurance.
Registrations are now being accepted, and are recommended. Registration on the day of the tournament begins at noon. The tournament will be limited to 72 players. The cost is $30 per golfer or $100 for a team of four.
There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and a barbecue with refreshments will be offered at the end of the tournament.

LEAP is a private, nonprofit agency that provides community and residential support for people with developmental disabilities and mental retardation in western and central Maine, and their families.
