WILTON – State police are still pursuing leads generated by a $10,000 reward that Raymond “Butch” Weed’s family posted to find his killer.
Weed, a 40-year-old Wilton contractor, was found shot to death on Dec. 23, 2003, in his home office on Main Street.
“We’re still working on it,” said state police Sgt. Walter Grzyb. “We’ve been fairly active on it the last month. The reward generated new information and has generated some new leads to follow up on.”
The type of information police have received takes time to follow up on, he said. State police have been involved in eight other homicides since Weed was killed, Grzyb said.
A real estate sign in front of Weed’s house has a “sale pending” sign on it.
