LEWISTON – The consolation tournament for five teams in the two Lewiston divisions of the L-A Men’s Softball League is scheduled today at the Randall Road complex.
The opening schedule is as follows: 9 a.m., Buddyz vs Sabine, R-1; B&T Pallet vs Rack-em-up, R-3; 10:15, Poland Spring vs winner Buddyz-Sabine, R-1. The double-elimination event continues all day, with the championship game slated for 3 p.m. at R-1.
The top three teams in the two Lewiston divisions automatically qualify for the playoffs that begin next week. They are Legends (1), Ducharme Masonry (2) and Gipper’s (3). The winner of the consolation tourney will join the pack as the No. 4 seed. Playoffs begin August 10 at 6:00, as follows: 4 vs 1, R-1; 2 vs 3, R-3; August 11, 1 vs 4, R-3; 3 vs 2, R-1. “If” games are slated for August 13.
