PORTLAND – Artists from throughout New England and beyond will be in downtown Portland Saturday, Aug. 28, for the 39th annual WCSH 6 Sidewalk Art Festival. WCSH 6 is also celebrating its fourth annual auto show, featuring classic and new cars from dealerships around Greater Portland. Rain date: Aug. 29.
The art festival is held on Congress Street from Park Street to Monument Square and Federal Street. Downtown Congress Street will be closed to vehicles from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists will display their stands with thousands of prints and paintings for sale; some artists may demonstrating their technique.
Each registered artist can submit one painting for competition in the judges prizes. The rain date for the sidewalk art show and the auto show is Sunday, Aug. 29.
