In recent months, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake have been plagued by breakup speculation and nasty legal battles, which can mean only one thing: wedding reports!
The celeb couple – together for about a year – are ready to make it legal after Timberlake, 23, popped the question to the 31-year-old A-lister, according to MSN.com.
The ex-‘N Sync star first secured permission from Diaz’s parents and got the thumbs-up from his mom.
Sources say the alleged wedding will be “a very quiet affair,” with one explaining, “It will be more like that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin – nice and discreet.”
Of course, Diaz’s rep denies the report.
Secret vote
Tom Cruise says he respects the right of entertainers to participate in political campaigning, but his vote in the upcoming presidential election will remain private, reports The Associated Press.
During a news conference in Mexico’s capital Monday to promote the release of “Collateral,” Cruise was asked his preference when it comes to President Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry.
“Politics is something that is very personal to me,” the 42-year-old actor said. “I am not going to comment publicly about who I’m going to vote for. … I don’t want what I say to become a political football.”
But when asked how he feels about other performers lobbying for their favorite candidate, Cruise signaled his approval.
“It’s their right to do that and I respect that,” said Cruise, appearing next to posters of the gray and grizzled hit man he plays in “Collateral.”
“But I do believe and I encourage people to go out and study the issues, get beyond the propaganda,” he said.
Pitt’s fans can get a grip
Brad Pitt’s wax double has been given a strokeable silicone chest to go with a squeezable bottom in the latest hands-on figure at Madame Tussauds in London, reports BBC Online.
Visitors are invited to feel his chest, which the attraction says is “springy” and lifelike, in the updated figure – as well as the “popular” squeezable rear.
But a Madame Tussauds spokeswoman said the star had not posed for the figure and they had not asked his permission.
“I’m not sure how Brad feels about it,” she said.
The revamped Pitt figure goes alongside waxworks of his wife, ex-“Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston, and David and Victoria Beckham.
Wax modelers made Pitt’s figure from a huge selection of photographs and films, the spokeswoman said.
“They used extensive pictures and film footage and took the measurements from that. We don’t have to ask permission but we let everybody know we are making a figure.”
