LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are investigating a report of a rape of a 15-year-old girl by an acquaintance early Friday.

Officer Brock Caton started the investigation that was turned over to Livermore Falls Police Department’s sexual assault investigator Heidi Gould, Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

The girl’s family reported the gross sexual assault at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Steward said.

The girl was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and treated by a sexual assault response team.
