FARMINGTON – Franklin Community Health Network invites interested members of the community to become FCHN corporators and to participate in the organization’s governance.

Franklin Community Health Network is a locally controlled, not-for-profit network of rural health care providers that integrates medicine, health education and community involvement in greater Franklin County.

FCHN includes Franklin Memorial Hospital, Evergreen Behavioral Services, Pine Tree Medical Associates, the Healthy Community Coalition and the Western Maine Physicians-Hospital Organization.

The main obligation of an FCHN corporator is to attend the annual meeting, which this year will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. There, corporators elect new members of the network and affiliate boards, vote on bylaw changes and receive an annual report. The annual Community Health Leadership Award is also presented to a deserving member of the community.

Richard Batt, president of the health network, will give a presentation, as will Richard Dennis, chair of the FCHN board, and Dr. Tom Marshall, president of the Franklin Memorial Hospital medical staff.

To be eligible to be a corporator, one must be registered to vote or pay taxes in one of the towns in the FCHN service area. There is no fee.

Interested people may call Mandy Luce at 779-2265 before Sept. 1, or register on-line at www.fchn.org/corporator.
