LIVERMORE FALLS – An application from Wayne Parker Jr. for an adult business to sell and rent adult movies, magazines and other sex-related items, is on the Planning Board agenda Wednesday. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the upstairs former court room in the municipal building.
Parker originally filed an application with the town on June 26 and it went before the planners at their July 7 meeting. It was not accepted at that time and was met with concerns from planners and objections from the public.
On Aug. 4 it again appeared on the agenda and again was not accepted because it was not complete. Among items found lacking by the planners were hours of operation, legal standing in the property, detail of roads, driveway, parking area, area buildings, and layout of the existing building.
In the meantime, the selectmen proposed an ordinance to establish a six-month moratorium on such businesses and it was approved at a special town meeting Aug. 16, retroactive to Aug. 3.
The board will also consider an application from Pamela Letalien, Haines Corner Road, to operate a store in Central Plaza selling dry goods (flour, beans, dried fruit, etc.) and a pastry shop.
