BUCKFIELD – Karen Montanaro and Jackie Reifer will present “Lonesomes and Twosomes” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at The Oddfellow Theater.

Montanaro blends mime and dance to create theater with rare physical and emotional power.

During “Lonesomes and Twosomes,” an old gunslinger reminisces about his youth one moment, the next an entire baseball game plays out in front of the audience.

Montanaro is a principal dancer with the Portland Ballet Company and teaches at the company’s affiliated school, The Portland School of Ballet. She also teaches ballet, movement and mime throughout New England and Europe, and privately. For 15 years, she collaborated and performed extensively with her husband, world-renowned mime and performing artist Tony Montanaro, who is now deceased. She was the wordsmith for his book “Mime Spoken Here,” published in 1995.

Reifer is a professional mime and comedic actress who has toured the United States, Canada and Europe with Tony Montanaro’s Theater Ensemble. She currently performs a duet show of original theater with her husband, John Saccone.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6, children 12 years and under. Tickets are available at Northeast Bank in Buckfield or by calling the theater’s box office, 336-3306. Box office hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m.
