An out-of-state acquaintance recently started a discussion about the presidential election campaign. This ended abruptly when he snarled: “I’m not gonna vote for either of ’em!”

This brought to mind a quotation from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil” Emerson wrote, “is for good men to do nothing.”

These words are as true today as they ever were. Please remember them on Nov. 2 and vote!
