LIVERMORE FALLS – SAD 36 directors gave unanimous approval Thursday to a resolution affirming their opposition to the Palesky property tax-cap initiative.

“The greatest misunderstanding in this is that people believe it will force state legislative action, the reality is that the municipalities will have to deal with it,” Superintendent Terry Despres said. “This is not the answer.”

Elementary Principal Terrie Roberts explained the recess situation at her school, emphasizing that it is not discouraging recess, only freeing up the teachers for two recess duties per week, which will be covered by educational technicians.

Approval was given for eighth-graders to take part in a Learning with Adventure program Sept. 23 and 24., to a new information technology and network use policy and for the district to borrow up to $350,000 in revenue anticipation notes at 2.32 percent with payment due within the budget year.
