Craft show space

FARMINGTON – Artists and craftspeople can reserve space for the University of Maine at Farmington’s annual arts and crafts show that will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 6 in Olsen Student Center on campus. All items will be handmade/homemade by the artists. Items will include stained glass, jewelry, pressed floral art, hand-painted wood and jars, baskets, original paintings and prints of watercolors, pastels and oils, wreaths, hand-knit items, quilts, horse blankets, vests, wind chimes, metal decor, greeting cards, pottery, birdhouses, hand-sewn crafts, hand-spun yarn and country crafts. To reserve a space or for more information, people can call the school’s Conference and Events Office, 778-7344.

DAR lunch

TEMPLE – The Colonial Daughters Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the home of Melanie Farmer. A potluck lunch will be served, followed by a guest speaker, Debbie Trask, community executive for Cancer Control, who will talk about women’s health issues. The regular meeting will be conducted by Regent Constance Hiltz.
