JAY – A Budget rental truck scheduled to be returned last week to a Jay company was recovered in a parking lot in North Carolina.

Shipper’s Express of Jay reported theft of the truck Friday, said Jay Officer Russell Adams.

Adams said the rental agreement covered the period from Thursday, Sept. 16, to Sunday, Sept. 19.

But the truck wasn’t returned and ended up in a lot in Charlotte, N.C., instead, Adams said.

The case is being forwarded to the Franklin County district attorney, he said.
