FARMINGTON – A West Farmington man was charged Friday with gross sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl from the Farmington area.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Detective David St. Laurent said he arrested Jeffrey Campbell, 39, on the sex charge after he received a call and information from Farmington police Officer Bridgette Dellarma.

The departments worked jointly to investigate the case, he said.

The victim alleges that Campbell, an acquaintance, forced her to have sex with him in July at a site in Temple, St. Laurent said.

Campbell was released Friday on $4,000 unsecured bail.
