An error was inserted into a letter to the editor written by Susan Shaw and published Oct. 20. The letter should have read: “The 2003 bear harvest totaled 3,900 bears, of which only 3 percent were shot after being trapped.” Since 1999, trapping has accounted for 2 percent of the bear harvest.
