MANCHESTER – Incumbent Rep. Stanley A. Moody, D-Manchester, has won a second term represent residents in House District 83.
Moody received an unofficial 2,820 votes and challenger Edward W. Hendsbee Jr., a Republican of Belgrade, received 2,312, according to The Associated Press.
The district includes Belgrade, Fayette, Manchester, Mount Vernon and Vienna.
Residents in Fayette chose Moody over Hendsbee by a 429-266 vote.
Mount Vernon residents elected Moody with 553 votes to Hendsbee’s 359 votes.
Vienna residents cast 250 votes for Moody and 148 for Hendsbee.
Individual vote tallies in Belgrade and Manchester were unknown Wednesday.
