I was very impressed by clean and positive campaign of Maine Sen. Bruce Bryant and his supporters this year. I think the advertisements for Sen. Bryant were issue-oriented and very helpful for voters, as they should be in an American election.
Distortions, deceptively slanted information, half-truths, personal innuendo and lies about an opposing candidate do not present the issues to voters and are unwelcome. They also show contempt for the intellect of voters.
I was also impressed by the volunteers for the Democratic Party in Oxford County during the campaign. Never has there been such unity in the county. I cannot say enough about the those volunteers who worked at the Democratic Party office in Mexico. They are unsung heroes who should be recognized.
