George Bush told America he could unite this country, yet at his first news conference according to the Sun Journal, he made it clear that he believes his popular-vote majority and an enlarged GOP majority in Congress lend him muscle for his agenda, with or without the help of Democrats.

He said, “Let me put it this way, I earned capital in the campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it.”

Any good leader will tell you the first step when taking leadership is to extend an invitation to both sides to work together.

Unite the country, I don’t think so. It sounds like more of the same.
