WILTON – A Wilton man was charged with terrorizing this week after a woman reported he said things to her that made her fear for her safety, police said.
Peter Ankers, 47, of Pine Street was taken into custody after a woman told police he “made statements that made her fear for her personal safety,” interim Police Chief Edward Leahy said. He said the man had threatened the woman once before, but the incidents were not reported until Wednesday.
Wilton police Officer Robert Cole received the complaint and contacted the assistant district attorney, who issued an arrest warrant. Ankers was found driving on Depot Street in Wilton by Officer Terry Warren, who arrested him.
Ankers was released from Franklin County Jail at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday on $2,000 unsecured bail. His case is to be heard in court Jan. 26.
