FARMINGTON – The former Kerr House has been sold as a residence, real estate agent Juanita Bean Smith said Tuesday.
The former home for pregnant teenagers and young mothers, which was overseen by the Positive Turning Points for Youth board of directors, closed in May after struggling financially.
The 16-room house on High Street, which had been a bed and breakfast before being turned into a home for parenting and pregnant teens, was on the market for $259,000. The house layout was divided so that there was a two-room manager’s suite upstairs, a three-room apartment on the ground floor, along with four guest bedrooms and six rooms in the main section of the house, including a commercial kitchen.
Bean Smith declined to comment on the final sale price.
A U-Haul truck was parked in front of the home Tuesday.
Janine Winn, chairman of the Positive Turning Points for Youth board, was unavailable for comment Tuesday.
