FARMINGTON – Steve Wells had two hits, including an RBI double, to lead Mt. Blue to a 6-5 victory over Leavitt.
Adam Wallace pitched five innings with seven strikeouts to improve his record to (2-0). Nick Tibbets and Justin Lowell also drove in a run apiece for the Cougars (2-1).
Brandon Powell had a double and single for Leavitt (1-2), while Chris Brewer and Adam Sawyer also added two hits each.
St. Dom’s 7, Gray-NG 1
GRAY — Starting pitcher Brady Blackman scattered two hits over seven innings to lift St. Dom’s to a 7-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC baseball action Monday.
Blackman finished with 13 strikeouts and two walks to give St. Dom’s (1-0) a victory in its season opener.
The Saints were led offensively by Jon Rutt, who had a home run, a triple and a single, to drive in four runs. St. Dom’s catcher Michael Carpenter added two hits to help put the game out of reach.
Chris Forbes doubled in the lone run for the Patriots (0-1) in the first inning.
Poland 14, Freeport 3
POLAND – Poland’s Max Levine belted two doubles and drove in a pair of runs as the Poland Knights crushed Freeport 14-3.
Curtis Haslip had three hits and two RBIs, while Tyler Merchant and Jeremy Callahan also drove home two runs for Poland (2-0).
Poland scored seven runs in the second inning and added five more in the third.
Freeport’s (0-2) Jared Burton hit an RBI single in the second to bring home Josh Best.

Poland 13, Freeport 1
POLAND — Rachel Roberts belted three hits and drove in four runs to lead Poland to a 13-1 victory over Freeport in WMC softball action Monday.
The Knights (2-0) received five solid innings out of starting pitcher Brianna Pratte, who scattered three hits and struck out five, while walking one. Robyn Gauthier was 2-2 with two walks and two RBIs to help secure the Poland victory.
Freeport (0-1) scored its only run of the game in the third inning on an RBI double by Rachel Best.
