JAY – Sean Holbrook netted a pair of goals and added an assist as Monmouth rolled over Jay 5-0 in a MVC boys’ soccer matchup on Thursday.

Caleb Brown, Max Grover and Nate Trenholm also tallied for the Mustangs (2-1). Scott Ogden made eight saves in net to preserve the shutout.

The Tigers (0-3) did have scoring opportunities, holding the edge in corner kicks 7-1. Matt Roundy handled netkeeping duties, turning away six shots on the day.

Mt. Abram 1, Lisbon 1

LISBON – Mt. Abram and Lisbon drew to a 1-1 tie in double overtime in what proved to be a closely matched boys’ soccer contest on Thursday afternoon.

The Roadrunners (2-0-1) got on the board first with a goal by Aaron Adams, who picked up the ball at the 18-yard line and popped it in the right corner of the net.

The Greyhounds (1-0-1) tied the contest up for good in the second half from a goal by Evan Manocal off a rebound from the Mt. Abram goalkeeper.

Carrabec 2, Wiscasset 2

WISCASSET – In a contest that went back and forth, double overtime proved fruitless as Carrabec and Wiscasset drew to a 2-2 tie in MVC soccer action.

Wiscasset was first on the board with a goal by Justin Cramery. Carrabecs’ Nick Caldwell put the Cobras on the board 57 seconds into the second half to tie up the game.

The Redskins then tallied another by Thomas Melateire, before Ryan Trott would tie the game up for good for Carrabec.

Zach Hartman made 11 saves for the Wiscasset, while Ugo Liberti stopped five shots for Carrabec.

Dirigo 1, Winthrop 1

WINTHROP – Dirigo and Winthrop proved to be evenly matched as they drew to a 1-1 tie in double overtime Thursday afternoon in boys’ soccer.

Dirigo (1-1-1) scored first in the second half with a goal from Wes Gagnon off a pass from Jon Smith.

Winthrop (0-1-1) tied the game when Tim Gingras picked up a cross-field pass from Dave Zimmerman.

Both teams had several good scoring opportunities, but couldn’t capitalize on them.

Livermore Falls 1, Mountain Valley 1

RUMFORD – Livermore Falls’ Matt Cotnoir and Mountain Valley’s Byron Glaus each netted a goal to lock their teams in to a 1-1 tie in MVC boys’ soccer action on Thursday.

Cotnoir scored first for the Andies (0-1-1) at the 27:04 mark in the first half of the contest after picking up a loose ball and firing a shot from the 20-yard line.

Glaus received the ball at the 18-yard line and blasted the ball at the goalie, who fumbled it, to score with 14 minutes left in the contest to tie the game for the Falcons (0-1-1).

Mountain Valley controlled the ball most of the game, outshooting Livermore Falls 31-7.
