LEWISTON – Husayn Carnegie notched a pair of goals to lift Lewiston to a 2-1 victory over Morse in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Blue Devils (3-0) scored their first goal at the 34:23 mark of the second half when Carnegie picked up a through pass from Matt Manley and split the defenders to go one-on-one with the keeper. Carnegie’s second goal was a frozen rope that sailed cleanly through the right center of the goal.

Nick Barrington cut the deficit for the Shipbuilders (0-2-1) with just under 13 minutes remaining by taking advantage of defender miscommunication and booting the ball beyond the diving extended reach of goalie Brian Nason.

G-NG 4, Poland 2

POLAND – Tyler Hale scored a pair of goals as Gray-New Gloucester defeated Poland 4-2 for its first win of the season.

Hans Nielson and Tyler Blanchard also notched goals for the Patriots (1-3).

Joe Murphy scored on a lob over the head of Patriots goalie Joe Ripley, and Tommy Harrison added a goal on a blast through the keeper’s hands in the second half for the Knights (0-3).

Oak Hill 3, Mt. View 2

THORNDIKE – Brian Bisson scored the eventual game-winner midway through the second half to lift Oak Hill to a 3-2 triumph over Mt. View.

Nathan Lavoie and Kenny Clarke scored a goal apiece in the first half to give the Raiders (2-1) a 2-0 lead at intermission. John Wentworth recorded a pair of goals for the Mustangs (1-2).

Mike Eaton had nine saves for Oak Hill, while Ethan Jean turned back 11 shots on goal for Mt. View.

EL 5, Cony 0

AUGUSTA – Tyler Snow scored a pair of goals and added an assist as Edward Little blanked Cony 5-0.

Snow one-timed a cross from Tyler Dorris into the back of the net from 10 yards out in the opening minutes to set the tempo for the Red Eddies (2-1). His feed to Mark St. Hilaire set up the second goal, and Snow added another insurance tally in the second half.

Mike Tardiff and Mohammed Haji-Hersi also scored for Edward Little. Josh Mains stopped five shots for the clean slate.

Foxcroft 40, Livermore Falls 14

Foxcroft – Foxcroft Academy scored 33 unanswered points in the second half to rally past Livermore Falls 40-14.

The Andies (0-2) led 14-7 at halftime, but the Ponies defense held Livermore Falls tailback Ryan Webster to 29 yards rushing in the second half after he had gained 194 in the first.

Joey Caparrelli led a balanced Foxcroft offense with 68 yards on 12 carries and a pair of scores. James McPhee had 65 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown, and recorded six tackles on defense. Josh Pelletier notched six tackles.

Webster wound up with 223 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns for Livermore Falls.
