SOUTH PARIS – Allison Reed led a trio of players to score goals as Oxford Hills rolled to a 3-0 shutout over Mt. Ararat in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.
Jamee Brett scored on a penalty stroke, while Tia Durgin also tallied for the Vikings (4-3) to complete the scoring. Aleksys Pike needed eight saves in net to preserve the shutout.
Tasha Cornish and Jenny Stevens split netkeeping duties for the Eagles (1-5), combining for three saves on the day.
Soccer
Mt. Abram 3, Monmouth 0
MONMOUTH – Logahn Walker and Morgan Cummings each tallied a goal and an assist as Mt. Abram psoted a 3-0 win over Monmouth in girls soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Emma Coffin also added a goal, scoring directly off a corner kick that snuck between the post and Monmouth defense. Mt. Abram (5-1-1) controlled most of the play, out-shooting Monmouth (3-2-1) 20-3.
Mt. Ararat 2, Oxford Hills 0
SOUTH PARIS – Danielle Plourde and Alexie Hauser both tallied goals Tuesday as Mt. Ararat handed Oxford Hills a 2-0 shutout in KVAC girls’ soccer action.
Plourde got an assist from Hauser to put the Eagles (6-1) up by one with 28:22 remaining in the first half. Hauser recorded an unassisted goal of her own with 4:50 left in regulation to complete the scoring. Jessica Stahl needed four saves to notch the win.
Pam Nerberg and Terry Bunce split netkeeping duties for the Vikings (0-5-1), turning away 11 shots on the day.
St. Dom’s 3, Wells 2 (2OT)
WELLS – Heidi DeHaan netted the game winning goal off a penalty kick in double overtime to propel St. Dom’s to a 3-2 victory over Wells in girls’ soccer on Tuesday.
DeHaan took the shot after a handball in the box had been called. Toby Crispin and Laura Robitzek each tallied a goal for the Saints win.
Both of Wells goals were scored in the first half of the contest by Hope Beisswanger and Candy Wolterbeek.
Falmouth 6, Gray-New Gloucester 0
GRAY – Carly Applebaum scored a pair of goals as Falmouth rolled past Gray-New Gloucester 6-0 in WMC soccer action.
Courtney Gallager, Ashley Dragos, Allie Bifulco, and Olivia Rowse each chipped in with a goal for the Yachtesmen win.
