FARMINGTON – Stephanie Smith netted two goals and added a pair of assists to power Mt. Blue to a 4-1 girls’ soccer win over Old Town.

Smith opened the scoring on an assist from Sandy Moloney, then set up Tess Perry for the eventual game-winner. Moloney also added a goal in the second half. Xena Colby rounded out the scoring for the Cougars (4-4-2).

Amy McLaughlin scored the lone goal for the Indians (1-8).

Caitlin Scott had seven saves for Mt. Blue.

Richmond 3, Rangeley 1

RANGELEY – Melanie Schanck scored a goal and added an assist to lead Richmond to a 3-1 victory over Rangeley.

Stephanie O’Brian and Nicole Tuttle also scored for Richmond (7-1).

Raina Eustis scored the lone goal for Rangeley (6-5) in the second half.

Dirigo 10, Carrabec 2

DIXFIELD – Katherine Gagne notched two goals and two assists to pace Dirigo to an easy 1-2 triumph over Carrabec.

Katie Hutchinson chipped in with a goal and three helpers, Megan Russell added two goals, and Jasmine Jacques added a goal and an assist for the Cougars. Becky Geib and Erica French each scored for the Cobras.

Amy Campbell stopped 10 shots for Carrabec, while Christina Chow finished with three saves.

Oxford Hills 3, Leavitt 1

TURNER – Kari Pelletier scored a pair of goals in the second half to lift Oxford Hills to a 3-1 victory over Leavitt.

Both of Pelletier’s goals came on breakaways as she pulled away from the Hornets defense and beat goalkeeper Katherine Rothe one-on-one. Terry Bunce also scored for the Vikings (3-5-2).

Ashley Naylor tallied the lone goal for Leavitt (2-8), heading in a Nikki Chouinard corner kick to open the scoring.

Rothe finished with 19 saves as the Vikings outshot the Hornets 22-8. Sam Rivers had seven saves to preserve the win.

Mtn. Valley 0, Madison 0

RUMFORD – Neither team could find the net as Mountain Valley and Madison played to a 0-0 tie.

Madison goalkeeper Ashley Marandola made 28 saves to keep the Falcons off the board.

Karri McPherson stopped five shots for Mountain Valley (1-6-3).

Maranacook 1, Winslow 1

WINSLOW – Maranacook and Winslow played to a 1-1 tie.

Allison Meyer scored on a cross from Jackie Mrazik at close range to put the Black Bears (9-1-1) ahead in the first half, but Katie Caron answered in the second frame off an indirect kick from Sara Lane. Neither team could find the game-winner.

Winslow (10-0-1) handed Maranacook its only loss, a 1-0 tilt earlier in the season.

Melissa Piper stopped 20 shots to backstop Maranacook, which played without three starters. Hannah Brazier countered with 16 saves for Winslow.

Field hockey
Jay 1, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP – Julie Nelson converted a pass from Liz Leblanc 45 seconds into the second extra session as Jay slipped past Winthrop 1-0.

Nelson came in from the left wing and set up on the opposite goal post before directing the ball past Rambler keeper Sarah Giampetro.

Winthrop (6-5) lost despite outshooting the Tigers 16-7 and holding the ball in the Jay defensive zone with 14 penalty corners.

Brenda Allen kept the Ramblers off the scoreboard with six saves. Giampetro bolstered Winthrop with five saves.

Mtn. Valley 1, Dirigo 0

RUMFORD – Amanda Gallant was the only player to find the back of the net as Mountain Valley edged Dirigo 1-0.

Gallant took a cross at the right wing and fired the ball home for the clinching goal. Kim Clarke preserved the win for the Falcons (6-5), stopping five shots for the shutout.

Danni Tompkins had a busy night between the pipes for the Cougars (3-7), facing 21 shots and finishing with 12 saves.

NYA 3, Poland 0

YARMOUTH – Allie Tocci scored a pair of second-half goals to lead North Yarmouth Academy to a 3-0 triumph over Poland.

Kayte Demont scored the first goal for the Panthers (5-4-1) at the 13:50 mark of the first half. NYA’s goaltender Sarah Holden made nine stops to keep the Knights (1-10-1) off the board.

Hall-Dale 2, Lisbon 1

LISBON – Hannah Rau scored the game-winning goal unassisted at the 26 minute mark as Hall-Dale slipped past Lisbon 2-1.

Hall-Dale drew first blood when Amber Poirier found the back of the net with 10:15 left in the first half. Alyssa Withee made seven saves in net for Hall-Dale (7-4).

Amanda Stevens netted the lone goal for Lisbon (6-5) with two minutes left in the game.
