Dear Sun Spots: In recent months, you have had inquiries concerning the Healey Asylum for boys and the St. Joseph Orphanage for girls. At L-A College’s Franco-American Collection, we do have general histories of both institutions, as well as, group photos with names of those children who participated in the 1940 and 1946 Festival de la bonne chanson.

On a related matter, we are looking for photos of the exterior and interior of the Union Musicale, which was built in 1911 on the corner of Second and Cook streets in New Auburn. Many important French musical and theatrical events were held there. Its hall had a seating capacity of more than 1,000. I can be reached at 753-6545 or by e-mail at franco@usm.maine.edu. – Donat Boisvert, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Do you know of any secondhand stores that specialize in gently used clothing for women returning to the work force? I am now out of the work force and might have some things for them. Thanks. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Could you please find out the address and telephone number of the company that makes Cobbie Cuddlers soft leather footwear?

I have been purchasing them at Kmart but for while now they only have wide width, and I need medium. I would like to know if they are still being made in the medium width and where I might locate them. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: You might want to contact Footstar Corp. headquarters, 933 Macarthur Blvd., Mahwah, NJ 07430, (201) 934-2000 to see if it can locate a carrier near you.

Dear Sun Spots: Thanks for all your help in the past.

I have two questions that I hope someone can help me with. I work for a nonprofit company that has monitor heaters in some of its locations. Does anyone know who in the L-A area cleans and services these and if they accept company purchase orders?

Also, I used to buy Jif peanut butter sticks for baking at Wal-Mart. Does anyone know if they can still be purchased in the area? I e-mailed Jif, but never got a response. Please e-mail me at paws8eight@msn.com if you can help me. Thanks! No name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, you might want to check your local Yellow Pages and look under Heating to see if there is anyone who can assist you.

Regarding your second question, Sun Spots contacted The J.M. Smucker Co., 1 Strawberry Lane, Orrville, OH 44667-0280, 1(800) 283-8915 and found that this item has been discontinued. They were only out for a short time, prior to their discontinuance.

Dear Sun Spots: I am curious if any readers might have an abundance of shipping materials such as peanuts or such that they would like to see recycled. If so, I can take them off your hands and reuse. I am happy to pick them up at your convenience. I can be contacted by e-mail at mail@naturesflame.com or please call me at 369-0290. Thank you folks. Any help is appreciated! – Bethany, Roxbury.
