LAS VEGAS – Amanda Mondrach netted 12 points, while Nikki Altenweg added 11 as Baldwin-Wallace, ranked fourth in the latest USA Today Division III Coaches Poll, edged Bates 66-63 in the opening round of the D3 Desert Shootout.

The Yellow Jackets won despite shooting only 29.2 percent from the floor in the game, while the Bobcats registered a 39.3 percent clip.

Meg Coffin led Bates with game-highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds, to go with two steals and two assists.

Sarah Barton added 15 points and six assists.
