FARMINGTON – Christina Mosher netted 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Mt. Blue to a 56-49 victory over Messalonskee.

Bonnie Silkman chipped in for the Cougars (2-2) with 14 points and five key steals, while Alyson Webster added 10 points in a well-balanced attack.

Chelsea Barker led the Eagles (2-1) with 17 points, while sister Amanda tallied 13. Mt. Blue trailed 22-19 at the halftime break, then got its offense in high gear to pull out the seven-point victory.

Lewiston 41, Erskine 34

LEWISTON – Danielle Willey drained a game-high 14 points to power the Lewiston Blue Devils to a 41-34 victory over Erskine.

Mallory Long added 12 for Lewiston (2-2).

Rachel Siegfried led Erskine (0-4) with eight in the loss. Erskine had a three-point lead at halftime before Lewiston took command.

Rangeley 42, Forest Hills 18

RANGELEY – Nicole Crupi netted 10 points as Rangeley posted a 42-18 victory over Forest Hills in EWC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Lakers held an 18-8 advantage at the halftime break, then went on a 24-10 run in the second frame to seal the victory.

Angela White chipped in for the Lakers (2-0) with eight points, while Ashley Quimby and Ashley Morton added six each. Forest Hills (0-2) had five players score, led by two with six ponts apiece.

Brunswick 56, EL 53

BRUNSWICK – Danielle Cousins drained 14 points Tuesday night to lead Brunswick to a 56-53 victory over Edward Little in KVAC girls’ basketball action.

The Dragons trailed 30-18 at halftime, but chopped away at the lead in the third quarter before taking control in the final period by outscoring EL 20-10.

Christine Baecher chipped in for the Dragons with 10 points, the only other player in double digits.

Brittney French led the Red Eddies (0-3) with a game-high 17 points, while Allison Forgues tallied 15 and Katie Dargie added 12.

Gardiner 55, Leavitt 42

TURNER – Becky Nixon tallied a game-high 25 points to send Gardiner past Leavitt 55-42 in a girls’ KVAC basketball matchup Tuesday evening.

Amanda Cray added 13 points for the Tigers (3-0). Gardiner stepped up the pressure, and held the overall advantage throughout the contest.

The Hornets (0-4) were led by Stephanie Healy with 14 points, seven steals and two assists. Ashley Naylor added nine points, while Brittany Duncan contributed six points and 10 rebounds.

Winslow 50, Maranacook 39

READFIELD – Stephanie Bossie poured in a team-high 18 points to lead Winslow to a 50-39 triumph over Maranacook.

Amanda Lapointe chipped in with 10 points for Winslow (2-2).

Shannon Bean led all scorers with 20 for Maranacook (1-3), while Laura St. John added nine. Maranacook kept pace for most of the game, tralling by three at half.

Oxford Hills 62, Morse 52

BATH – Allison Fox drained a game-high 16 points and was solid defensively as Oxford Hills beat Morse 62-52 in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

Kari Pelletier and Kelsea Pelletier each added 13 points to the Vikings (4-0) win.

The Shipbuilders’ (2-1) effort was paced by Hendrickson and Smith with 12 points apiece.
